The Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB), in collaboration with Kmet Kenya and ICS – SP, is currently conducting a two-day Policy Makers Sensitization Workshop at Amanda Resort on Nurturing Care for Early Childhood Development (NCfECD). The workshop, which brings together key stakeholders from Kakamega and Vihiga Counties, was officially opened yesterday by the Deputy County Secretary for County Government of Kakamega
The workshop aims to equip the Multi-sectoral Team (MST) with the necessary knowledge and strategies to enhance and mainstream early childhood care and development in their respective counties.
Experts from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST), KMET, and ICS-SP took the participants through critical topics such as;-
๏ฌ Early childhood development policies,
๏ฌ Strategic action plans, and
๏ฌ Best practices for scaling up and mainstreaming nurturing care programs.
The workshop seeks to develop an Action Plan and roadmap for strengthening NCfECD initiatives at the county level and emphasis on the role of county governments in ensuring a supportive environment for young children to thrive while guaranteeing sustainability of NCfECD within the LREB Counties
