Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo alongside his Deputy H.E. Wilberforce Kitiezo – Deputy Governor Vihiga County received a courtesy call from the Director of Kenya Agriculture and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) – Kakamega branch Dr. Joseph Munyasi.

‎The meeting centered on strategizing towards drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will establish an enduring and collaborative partnership between the County Government of Vihiga and KALRO to enhance Agricultural production through the implementation of Smart Agriculture techniques and enhancement of Agri-business initiatives.

‎Governor Ottichilo, who has a background as a scientist and researcher, emphasized the importance of including detailed provisions for local feed formulation, seed multiplication and comprehensive research and development projects in the MoU.

Additionally, he encouraged the incorporation of initiatives that would actively engage the youth, providing them with opportunities to participate in modern Agricultural practices.
