LAUNCH OF THE COUNTY’S THIRD GENERATION CIDP
As Kenya marked ten years of Devolution, County Government of Vihiga launched its third County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) as the basis for implementation of county’s programs and plans.
Governor Wilber Ottichilo presided over the launch alongside his deputy Wilberforce Kitiezo together with the Principal Secretary in the State Department of Devolution Teresia Mbaika, who was the Chief Guest, among other County and national leaders.
While reviewing the second generation CIDP, it was realized that significant achievements were made amongst them being the establishment of good governance structures, embracing public participation and civic education in decision making, complain redress mechanisms, expansion of County roads infrastructure, transformation of the health sector, promotion of Agricultural technology, promotion of Environmental and Climate change adaptation and mitigation programmes among other areas.
The CIDP 2023- 2027 seeks to build on the gains made in the implementation of the previous plans by formulating and implementing a robust resource mobilization strategy that will see reduction of pending bills, enhanced public and private partnerships and prudent public financial management achievable.
During the launch, his Excellency appealed to leaders from all the departments, private and other stakeholders, development partners and civil society to offer a full hand of support and active participation which in turn will play a pivotal role towards the achievements of the plans in the CIDP 2023-2027.
