M-TAKA SOLUTIONS
A team from M-TAKA Solutions (a Technology-Integrated Waste Management and recycling social enterprise) today held a consultative meeting with officers from the Department of Environment, Water, Energy, Natural Resources and Climate Change, Vihiga Municipal Board and Budget Office as a follow up engagement following the benchmark visit done at one of their Material Recovery Facilities in Kisumu.
The discussions, led by Aquila Lwanga, Director of Environment, Energy and Natural Resources, centered on forging a strategic partnership with M-TAKA Solutions to enhance the County’s Waste Management systems within a circular economy framework.
Through this collaboration, M-TAKA’s technology-driven approach will support the County’s transition to a circular economy by optimizing Waste processing, reducing environmental degradation and creating value from recycled materials.
This initiative reflects County Government of Vihiga’s dedication to Sustainable development, Environmental conservation, Public Health improvement and the establishment of a resilient, resource-efficient economy.
Benson from M-TAKA echoed that just like Kisumu realizing the dream of zero waste requires deliberate efforts, a step at a time. He also expressed his admiration to the zeal of the team present, looking forward to a successful engagement with the County.
