MASSIVE REGISTRATION EXERCISE
Deputy Governor (DG) Wilberforce Kitiezo today morning on behalf of Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo flagged off a team from the Department of Health Services that will be conducting a 5-day Social Health Authority (SHA) massive registration exercise across the County.
According to Kitiezo, County Government of Vihiga has ensured that all its facilities down to the lowest level of dispensaries are officially recognized by SHA and therefore services can be accessed all through.
The Deputy Governor also said the initiative has been deliberated upon by the County Executive Committee and targets to increase enrolment from the current 24% to 75%.
Chief Officer in charge of Health Services Dr. Mary Anyiendah affirmed that the registration process will be continuous, noting that the Department has partnered with the Vihiga County Assembly to help in sensitizing wananchi on the importance of SHA.
The registration schedule is as follows:
1. Tuesday, 25th March 2025 – Vihiga Sub County, Mbale Posta
2. Wednesday, 26th March 2025 – Sabatia Sub County, Chavakali Market
3. Thursday, 27th March 2025 – Luanda & Emuhaya Sub Counties, Luanda Market
4. Friday, 28th March 2025 – Tiriki East Sub County, Cheptulu
5. Saturday, 28th March 2025 – Hamisi Sub County, Hamisi
