PROTECT THE WATER PROJECT, RESIDENTS URGED AS OTTICHILO COMMISIONS WANDWATI COMMUNITY WATER PROJECT

Vihiga residents have been urged to embrace and protect water projects within their localities for their own domestic use and Agricultural practices.

This is according to Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo who commissioned: –

  • Wandwati Water Project, in Wemilabi Ward.
  • Givole Water Project in Jepkoyai Ward.
  • Mudungu Water Project in Wodanga ward, and;
  • Igogwa water Project in Central Maragoli Ward

The Governor reiterated his commitment to ensure all Vihiga households access clean and safe water at their doorstep, reason as to why the program has prioritized water at 70% as per the Vihiga County Climate Change Action Plan (2022-2027).

Additionally, all the Water Projects are solarized to cut down on the cost of pumping water and ensuring constant supply.

These Water Projects are part of the Climate Change Resilience Investment (CCRI) projects that have been implemented by County Government of Vihiga under the Financing Locally Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) program to enhance ability of community members to adopt to the effects of climate change through provision of safe and piped clean water.
