REVIEW MEETING FOR CHILDREN WITH TYPE 1 DIABETES

The County Government of Vihiga‘s Department of Health Services in collaboration with officials from Michigan State University, Rural Outreach Africa and Kenya Diabetes Management and Information Centre has today held a review meeting for children with Type 1 Diabetes and their parents/guardians under the Changing Diabetes in Children (CDiC) project across the county.
Through guided group discussions, attendees shared personal experiences, key takeaways, and challenges faced while managing diabetes. The use of diaries in tracking health habits was a major highlight, with many participants noting an improvement in awareness and control of their condition.
The workshop also explored changes in food management and reviewed overall project outcomes. Insights gathered will help inform future interventions and shape more effective, community-led approaches to managing diabetes.
