ROAD MAINTENANCE IN VIHIGA THROUGH LABOUR BASED APPROACH
Vihiga Governor Dr Wilber Ottichilo launched road maintenance under labour-based program in the County in the February on Gamalenga – Nyangori Road in Tambua Ward. The program involved residents in renovation and maintenance of the roads to improve the road network in the County.
With a budget of 20 million the program was rolled out in the entire County and 150km renovated. 3000 residents took part in the program for economic empowerment and ensured that roads were well maintained.
In partnership with Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), County Government has earmarked roads in the County that will be tarmacked in the new financial year. Governor Ottichilo has also shared his administration’s agenda to tarmack most roads in the county to improve the road network in the County.
