Technical Working Group on Gender-Based Violence
The Technical Working Group on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) including femicide led by Hon. Linah Chebii Kilimo this afternoon paid H.E. Wilberforce Kitiezo – Deputy Governor Vihiga County a courtesy call ahead of their public participation exercise scheduled to take place at the Vihiga Yearly Resource Centre tomorrow 14th May, 2025.
“As a County we are grateful to H.E President William Samoei Ruto for establishing this committee. Vihiga is among the counties that are greatly affected by GBV and femicide with such cases standing at 72 cases per week,” said Kitiezo.
The Deputy Governor added that the National Government Affirmative Action Fund has partnered with the County Government to establish a resource centre that will aid in rehabilitation of the affected victims. According to him the County is already equipping the centre.
