His Excellency Dr. Wilber Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo today hosted Mr. Hari Murthy – Director of the Velocity Project Management Limited alongside Mr. Srikant Nandigam – Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) of Vignan’s University, a visionary institution based in Andhra Pradesh, India.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐕𝐈𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐀 𝐎𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘

The partnership proposes the establishment of an Innovation and Incubation Hub in Vihiga County, which will serve as a catalyst for youth empowerment, enterprise development, and applied research. This hub could especially benefit from a circular economy approach, aimed at harnessing the waste generated by the institutions in Vihiga to create useful by-products—turning waste into wealth.

His Excellency Governor Ottichilo also welcomed partnership around establishing a calibration centre at the Vihiga County Teaching and Referral Hospital(VTRH) and capacity building for our biomedical engineers.

As we push for academic excellence and practical innovation, H.E. the Governor acknowledged inadequate infrastructure, that limits scalability and effectiveness of programs as well as the need for educators and students to get enhanced skills and practical exposure.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐁𝐄𝐓 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐄

Dr. Ottichilo noted that with Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) in our TTIs and VTCs being 80% practical, this collaboration with Vignan’s University presents a golden opportunity to embed international collaboration, industry-driven learning, and real-world skills into our educational model.
