281 PARTICIPANTS FLAGGED OFF TO REPRESENT VIHIGA AT KICOSCA GAMES 2025

It’s all systems go for 281 County staff who will be representing County Government of Vihiga in 24 disciplines at the Kenya Inter County Sports and Cultural Association (KICOSCA) 2025 games that kick off tomorrow in Siaya County.

While flagging off the participants today at the County headquarters, Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo emphasized on the importance of discipline and hardwork as major factors that contribute to success.

Additionally, he urged participating staff to carry the County’s flag high, interact and network with colleagues from other Counties during the seven-day competition.

According to County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Gender, Culture, Youth, Sports and Social Services Dr. Ruth Agesa, this year’s KICOSCA team selection process was conducted in line with the Vihiga County KICOSCA Implementation Guidelines approved by the cabinet.

The guidelines provided for formation of three committees namely; The Steering Committee, Technical Planning Committee and Disputes Resolution and Appeals committee, all mandated to manage the entire activity.

All participants underwent two audition exercises, conducted by external experts in respective disciplines, who selected both provisional and final squads on competency basis.
