His Excellency Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo has today received a courtesy call from the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) team.

‎The team led by Commissioner Hon. Isaac Kipkemboi Melly is in the county for a Monitoring and Evaluation exercise with the County technical officers (Heads of human resource, finance /accounts and payroll) to review the wage bill data submitted through the Automated Wage Bill Monitoring System and a sensitization on SRC advice on Renumeration and benefits in the public service.

‎ Governor Ottichilo expressed his gratitude to the team for coming and asked them to review the constraints posed by the 35% wage bill on salaries which limits or hinders employment of new staff citing that human capital is the basis for development and not just infrastructure. He also advocated for the revision of the Public Financial Management (PFM) act of 2012 to allow a higher allocation towards human capital for the county’s growth.
