VIHIGA CULTURAL AND TOURISM FESTIVAL 2024 (IMBIKHO)

Curtains close for the Vihiga Cultural and Tourism Festival 2024 (IMBIKHO), a vibrant celebration that brought communities together to connect with their heritage and traditions.
‎Residents had the opportunity to learn about their cultural roots from the elders of various tribes.
‎Youths engaged with the elders in a panel session to understand how cultural values and practices can positively shape society and address societal vices. They also displayed their creativity through dance, skits, and traditional attire, showcasing the richness of their culture.
‎The festival included a keynote speech by the former Shinyalu Member of Parliament, Hon. Lisamula Anami, who praised Governor Ottichilo for his efforts in organizing the event urging residents to embrace and cherish their cultural identity and heritage as a pathway to prosperity.
‎In his closing remarks, Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo complimented the exceptional musical talents in the county as he received a certificate of participation and trophies from the various groups that had excelled at the 97th edition of the Kenya Music and Cultural Festival (KMCF) in Voi, held from December 1st to 10th, 2024.
The talented groups include:
✅ Vihiga Chorale with five trophies.
✅ Tambua Sweet Melodies with two trophies.
✅ Chavakali Friends Choir with seven trophies
✅ Bunyore Skylets with four trophies.
