learners benefitting from the Governor’s Scholarship

A total of 392 learners benefitting from the Governor’s Scholarship have today been facilitated ahead of school’s opening for second term next week.
Beneficiaries receive shopping, pocket money and full school fees payment by the County Government of Vihiga through the Department of Education.
Speaking at the County Headquarters after the exercise, Dr. Ruth Agesa – CECM Education Vihiga County urged the students to exercise competence and embrace discipline while in school.
Dr. Agesa also cautioned students whose performance had dropped drastically and those found in indiscipline cases, noting that such cases will lead to disqualification from the program.
On his part, Chief Officer Education Dominic Luvavo affirmed that school fees had already been transferred to the respective schools’ accounts and therefore no student should be sent back home for fee balance.
