Cure Cervical Cancer – curecervicalcancer.org team led by the founder Dr. Patricia Gordon paid Governor Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo a courtesy call today on matters Luanda Sub-County outreach programme brief.
Governor Ottichilo lauded CCC-K for their program in Vihiga County noting that the Cervical Cancer screening exercise is a unique research that tends to solve a silent killer problem in the County of Vihiga and the nation at large.
“My administration is geared towards ensuring that Vihiga is a real model of cervical cancer screening. Therefore we have plans underway to invest in capacity building both financially and on human resource. This will also stretch to our Vihiga Teaching and Referral Hospital where personnel will be trained on the treatment of the said disease,” said the Governor.
According to the team, Luanda Sub County which was covered in the month of May had:
Training for 195 Community Health Promoters, 22 CHAs and 5 Public Health Officers4 major barazaas with more than 600 attendees4,825 HPV samples tested
20 Community mobile outreach clinics organized as from 9th May to June 2025.The team is set to do a countywide outreach programme.
