DISTRIBUTION OF DRUGS

Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo alongside H.E. Wilberforce Kitiezo – Deputy Governor Vihiga County has today launched the distribution of drugs worth Kshs 24 Millions. The drugs will be distributed to the Vihiga County Referral Hospital, sub county hospitals, health centres and all the dispensaries across the county.

The Governor asked Healthcare workers to ensure the drugs are used for the intended purpose within the facilities, sending a warning to those who sell drugs to private sectors noting that all drugs have been digitized with a unique code that will enable KEMSA and County Government to know who has been given and where has the drug been administered.

Dr. Ottichilo further encouraged Vihiga County residents to register with Social Health Authority (SHA) which will ensure health facilities receive funds from the scheme and help run their facilities including purchasing their own Health Products and Technologies (HPTs).
