KEGONDI WATER PROJECT

Kegondi water project, serving more than 100 households in West Sabatia Ward, Sabatia Sub County marks a significant milestone in Vihiga County’s effort to combat Climate change and improve livelihoods of its residents.
While in West Sabatia ward today, Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo officially commissioned the project to ensure that locals have access to clean and safe water.
Dr. Ottichilo reiterated the County Government’s commitment to foster sustainable development, assuring residents of plans for further expansion of the water network.
The project’s scope of work entailed;
✅Construction of sump 50M3 and connection to spring source
✅Supply and installation of a solar pumping system
✅Construction of power house
✅Supply and laying of the rising main
✅Supply and erection of an elevated steel tank 50M3 on steel tower
✅Supply and laying of distribution mains
✅Connection to 100 households
This project has been implemented by the County Government of Vihiga through the Directorate of Climate Change under the Financing Locally-Led Climate Action Program, Kenya.
