THE YOUTH DUTY-BEARERS CHAMBUA HUDUMA FORUM

Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo today chaired The Youth Duty-Bearers Chambua Huduma Forum-Vihiga County in Mbale.
‎The forum, organized by the Siaya County Youth Network (SCYN) in partnership with Department Of Gender, Culture, Youth and Sports – Vihiga County, is a concept by selected youths across Vihiga County trained on governance and advocacy to engage the local leadership on services offered by government, identify gaps and address issues.
‎According to SCYN President Nichodemus Solomon, this program is part of a larger project dubbed ‘The Youth Leadership Project’, set to be undertaken in Vihiga, Kisumu, Siaya, Bungoma and Kakamega Counties.
‎The youths also presented a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to the Governor, highlighting issues of:
✅ Government Land Access for Agricultural production
✅ Youth-friendly finances
✅ Structure and Marketing
✅ Youth-friendly extension services
✅ Inclusion of youth representation on the County Budget and Economic Forum (CBEF) committee
‎Governor Ottichilo, on his part, thanked the network for involving the youths in achieving their agenda, noting that his commitment to the youths is clearly spelt out in his manifesto and the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP).
According to Dr. Ruth Agesa – CECM Gender,Youths,sports ,Culture and social services, her department is determined to have continous engagement with youth to ensure their issues are addressed.
‎The youths also engaged in panel discussions with representatives from various County Government departments.
