MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU)
County Government of Vihiga through the Department of Health Services has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Global TeleHealth Network (GTN), an organization that offers online consultations for Doctors and Nurses whenever they come across patients with complex medical problems.
The MoU seeks to transform the County Healthcare systems towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by leveraging the Digital revolution and enhancing the delivery of Health services through Digital Health technologies such as Telehealth.
Additionally, it aims to;
Enhance Strategic Health planning by developing comprehensive plans aligning Telehealth goals with the County’s Integrated Development Plan(CIDP) Empower the County’s Healthcare team and strengthen preventive Health services Promote speciality consultations that assist practicing Physicians at the Wards and Sub County level Medical facilities Telehealth outreach by utilizing technology to support Nurses and Community Health Workers for outreach programs outside the walls of hospitals Enhance Community led Healthcare management Establish an online Healthcare library Establish and adopt Community Resource Centres to be set up at spots to be identified by the County Promote Quality Assurance for continuous improvement of Patient- Centric Care
