CLEAN UP EXERCISE

In pursuit of a cleaner and healthier environment as stipulated under Article 42 of The Constitution of Kenya (2010), the Department of Environment Water Energy Natural Resources & Climate Change in partnership with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints-Vihiga District today conducted a clean up exercise in Mbale town.
Aimed at sensitizing the public on importance of sustainability in Waste Management, the event also entailed;
✅Cleaning and Collection of waste
✅Direct conversation with traders and the public on proper waste handling and disposal ✅Tree Planting at Vumale Primary School as a way of increasing carbon sinks to combat Climate Change
County Government of Vihiga extends heartfelt gratitude to the young men and women of the church led by Youth President Maureen Ngaira, Mbale Business Community and our dedicated officers led by the Director Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Aquila Lwanga for their commitment to making this day a success.
