BENEFICIARY FARMERS

Beneficiary farmers of the Buhani Irrigation Project in Mungoma ward, Vihiga sub County have received adequate training to impart them with skills in Climate Smart Agriculture technologies for enhanced food security.

Some of the areas explored include;

Training beneficiary farmers on the principles of Soil and Water management

Providing hands-on experience in installing, operating and maintaining small-scale irrigation systems like drip and sprinkler technologies

Teaching farmers how to use water efficiently to maximize yields and reduce waste

Setting up demonstration farms that will serve as a continuous learning resource for the community

The project is being implemented by the Directorate of Climate Change under Financing Locally-Led Climate Action Program, Kenya towards a more resilient agricultural sector in Vihiga County.
