VIHIGA COUNTY HOSTS MINISTRY OF HEALTH LEADERSHIP ON UHC MISSION

The Ministry of Health is fast-tracking the government’s transformative health agenda under the Taifa Care Model through ongoing county health assessment tours aimed at strengthening systems and restoring public trust.

Today, Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale is leading the Ministry’s top leadership in Vihiga County in a milestone visit to advance the implementation of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The programme includes a health caucus sensitization forum, a tour of the Vihiga County Teaching and Referral Hospital, and a public engagement to enlighten residents on the benefits of the Social Health Authority (SHA).

As part of the visit, the delegation will hand over end-user devices to support digital transformation and enhance service delivery within the county health system.

The CS is accompanied by Medical Services Principal Secretary Dr. Ouma Oluga, SHA CEO Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, DHA CEO Eng. Anthony Lenayara, and is hosted by H.E. Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo, alongside other county and national leaders.
