KAKAMEGA FOREST CONSERVATION MARATHON

In his capacity as the Chairperson for Environment and Climate Change committee at the Council of Governors, Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo in the company of his Kakamega counterpart FCPA Fernandes Barasa flagged off the Kakamega Forest Conservation Marathon in Kakamega this morning.
The Kakamega Forest Marathon seeks to create awareness to restore and conserve the only remaining Guinnea Congolean rainforest in Kenya.
The Marathon precedes the Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB) Climate Change and Agri-Expo that kicks off today at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in Kakamega under the theme ‘Investing in Climate Solutions: Finance, Innovation and Action.’
Kakamega Forest is a tropical rainforest situated in the Kakamega, Vihiga, and Nandi counties of Kenya.
