35 BUSINESSES FETED AS KNCCI VIHIGA CHAPTER HOLDS SECOND AWARDS GALA

County Government of Vihiga through the Department of Commerce, Tourism and Cooperatives is committed to creating an ample and enabling environment for businesses across the County to ensure they thrive.
As a result of the already existing collaborative working relationship, the County Government has realized increased tax collection following extensive consultations during preparation of the County Finance Bill.
While gracing the Vihiga County Business Awards (Second Edition) at Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) yesternight, Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo was greatly impressed by the progress made in matters Agribusiness and Smart Agriculture, urging investors to take advantage of the readily available environment in Vihiga.
He further outlined business opportunities that will come along with establishment of the Kaimosi Municipality and a modern market at Cheptulu.
It goes without saying that County Government of Vihiga entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry – KNCCI and has set aside Kshs. 50.2M for payment of Pending bills in The Vihiga County Supplementary Appropriations Bill 2025 signed yesterday by the Governor.
Additionally, the County Government granted a two-year tax holiday to youth who benefitted from the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Project.
All this, with a clear indication of continued support to the business sector.
Themed ‘Honouring Excellence, Shaping Enterprises Development’ and organized by
Vihiga County Chamber of Commerce alongside other partners, the event brought on board a host of business stakeholders who were celebrated and awarded in 35 different categories.
