In order to build local capacities and enhance sustainability of Climate Change projects, there is need to periodically review the status of these projects and provide an opportunity for improvement as well as peer to peer knowledge exchange among Ward Climate Change Committees.
In view of the above, the Directorate of Climate Change today organized a workshop with Ward Climate Change Planning Committee Chairpersons and Ward Administrators with an aim of building capacity of the targeted participants to effectively identify, prioritize and monitor the implementation and operation of Climate resilience projects at ward level.
Specifically, the workshop aimed at:
1. Sensitizing the participants on Climate Change and their roles in dispensation of Climate Action at the ward.
2. Taking stock of the CCRI projects in the wards, assessing their functionality and preparing a roadmap for establishment of Project Monitoring Committees (PMCs) as well as specific interventions to address identified shortcomings in the projects.
3. Preparing for the upcoming Community Consultation forums in select targeted wards.
