BENCHMARKING TOUR
As part of the ongoing process to elevate Luanda and Kaimosi-Cheptulu into municipalities, the two Ad hoc committees responsible for the exercise visited Homa Bay County for a two-day benchmarking tour.
The main objectives of the tour were;
To learn on how the County managed to establish four municipalities i.e. Homa Bay Municipality, Oyugis Municipality, Dhiwa Municipality, Kendu Bay MunicipalityHow the boundaries were decided on, if they had to partially divide some Wards and Sublocations or if they were taken as a wholeHow the County is addressing issues of land expansion and possibilities of having land banks for expansionAmong areas visited include;
Sero area which is the boundary of Homa Bay MunicipalityNew County Government officesKoduogo BoundaryThe newly-launched Modern fish market
