BENCHMARKING VISIT

The County Government of Vihiga today hosted a delegation from the County Government of West Pokot on a benchmarking visit aimed at strengthening inter-county learning and collaboration.

The team explored a range of flagship initiatives and facilities across the county, including the Geographic Information System (GIS) laboratory that supports data-driven planning and service delivery, the Mbale Rural maternity open day, and initiative which has played a key role in enhancing maternal health awareness and community engagement.

The delegation also toured the Maternal and Child Health Complex currently under development, the Funeral Home, the Waste Management Unit, and both the old and new maternity at the Vihiga County Referral Hospital (VCRH). These facilities showcase the County’s commitment to improving healthcare access, strengthening public health infrastructure, and enhancing service delivery for residents.
