Capacity Building Exercise

County Government of Vihiga through the Department of Gender, Culture, Youth, Sports and Social Services in partnership with the Anti-Doping Agency of KENYA (ADAK) today conducted a capacity building exercise among sports practitioners in Vihiga County on matters Anti-Doping .

Comprising of team coaches, referees, instructors, physiotherapists, trainers and other sports stakeholders, the attendees were taken through;

Doping control measures

Prohibited list of substances

Effects of doping to athletes

Athlete support personnel

While addressing the 100 practitioners present at the event, County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Sports Anne C Desma observed the need for clean sports among players in different disciplines, urging ADAK to inculcate the training in schools where the vice of drug and substance abuse is on the rise.

Director Youth Affairs and Sports Bongo Ngoseywi, Assistant Directors Greg Jevunya (Sports), Phelix Munyora (Youth Affairs) and Sub County Sports Officers are among officers who attended the exercise.
