CONSULTATIVE MEETING

County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Education, Science, Technical and Vocational Training Anne Desma held a consultative meeting with representatives from the Sustainable Organic Farming and Development Initiatives (SOFDI) led by the International Director, Autumn Totton.
The discussion was centered on;
✅Scaling up the ECDE Uji Premix feeding programme from the current 55 schools reaching 5,229 learners, through a phased ward-by-ward rollout for effective monitoring, accountability and peer learning.
✅Implementation Framework – Developing a joint framework that clearly defines the roles of the County Government and SOFDI, with clear monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
✅Need for personnel at the County to support in implementing this programme .
✅Impact Assessment – SOFDI shared findings from its pilot phase, which highlighted improved nutrition, school attendance and learning outcomes among ECDE learners.
In her remarks, CECM Desma emphasized that school feeding is an investment in children’s future and called on parents to embrace the integrated Soya farming initiative to promote sustainability and community empowerment.
