Consultative Meeting

County Government of Vihiga through the ๐ƒirectorate ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐„๐ง๐ฏ๐ข๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ, ๐„๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ ๐ฒ and ๐๐š๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐œ๐ž๐ฌ today held a consultative meeting with stakeholders in the Waste Management Sector at the Maji House Boardroom.

In his opening remarks, Chief Officer for Environment, Energy, Natural Resources and Climate Change Dr Richard Boiyo underscored the Countyโ€™s commitment to the formalization of the waste sector.
He also emphasized on the need for structured licensing and regulation, while assuring stakeholders of the Countyโ€™s willingness to explore tax incentives and enable collaborative frameworks that support a thriving and inclusive Waste management ecosystem.
A major highlight of the meeting was the Countyโ€™s commitment to adopting a ๐‚๐ข๐ซ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐š๐ซ ๐„๐œ๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐€๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐š๐œ๐ก that aims at reducing waste, maximizing resource efficiency and unlocking employment and enterprise opportunities across the waste value chain.
