CONSULTATIVE MEETING
H.E. Wilberforce Kitiezo – Deputy Governor Vihiga County today graced a consultative meeting between the Department Of Gender, Culture, Youth and Sports – Vihiga County and various stakeholders.
The meeting, which brought together Development partners and stakeholders from the County Government, National Government, and Non-Governmental Organizations discussed the launch and operationalization of the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Centre located in Vokoli, Sabatia Sub County.
While appreciating partners for their support in ensuring the SGBV Centre is sustainable in addressing and curbing the rising cases of SGBV in the County, the Deputy Governor urged the department to enhance awareness and sensitization especially at grassroots level.
According to Dr. Ruth Agesa – CECM Gender,Youths,sports ,Culture and social services, the SGBV Centre will require support from all relevant stakeholders moreso on matters food, water, beddings, medication, counselling services and income-generating activities.
