A team of partners comprising of Football For Life Chief Executive Officer (CEO) David Clarke (Former Manchester City Player), his counterpart at New Hera International Marti Torres (Former Barcelona Youth Coach), Former Canadian International team player and Olympic Bronze medalist Laureen Sausselmen today paid a courtesy call to Governor Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo at his office.
The team is in Vihiga for a three-day visit following their recent signing of a partnership deal with Madira Soccer Assassins (FKF Women Premier League side based in Vihiga County).
In his remarks, Dr. Ottichilo congratulated the 2024/2025 Women National Super League champions for the kit launching and resource mobilization event held in Nairobi on 12th July 2025, urging the club’s management to work closely with the County Sports department in coming up with a visionary strategic plan for the team.
Additionally, he reiterated the need of commercializing sports industry in the County, stating that other teams should embrace Soccer Assassins in terms of seeking more partners.
Finally, the County Boss directed the Department of Sports to develop a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the partners for posterity of the initiative.
Also present during the meeting were Department of Youth and Sports Acting Chief Officer Dominic Luvavo, Director Bongo Ngoseywi and Assistant Director for Sports Greg Jevunya.
Others include; Aron Striger from Netflix,
Madira Soccer Assassins team Director Alex Alumira and Chairman Dr. Fredrick Mavisi (MCA Lugaga Wamuluma ward).
