Earlier today a multi-stakeholder team led by Vihiga Acting County Commissioner Florence Sitawa paid a courtesy call on Governor Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo for a briefing ahead of tomorrow’s Mazingira Day 2025 celebrations.

A series of activities are lined up to mark the day, including clean up exercises at Mbale and Luanda in collaboration with Equity Bank Kenya, followed by a tree growing exercise at Maragoli Hills and Chamakanga Primary School.

Also present in the meeting were County Director of Education, County Forest Conservator (KFS), representatives of Maragoli Hills Community Forest Association (CFA), Equity Bank Manager – Mbale, Secretary in the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary and officers from the Department of Environment Water Energy Natural Resources & Climate Change led by County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Dr. Jairus Amayi.
