DR. OTTICHILO SIGNS THE VIHIGA COUNTY PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD BILL, 2025 INTO LAW

Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo today signed into law the Vihiga County Public Service Board Bill, 2025 at the County Headquarters, marking a key milestone in strengthening the governance and oversight of the county public service.
Since the inception of devolution, the County Government of Vihiga has operated without a comprehensive Public Service Board Bill, a gap that has posed challenges in effectively guiding and overseeing the operations of the County Public Service Board (CPSB).
The enactment of the Bill is intended to reinforce the operations of the CPSB and enhance service delivery across the county. It provides a clear framework for recruitment within the County Government of Vihiga, promotes adherence to public service ethics among county staff, and establishes defined procedures for the efficient and effective handling of disciplinary cases.
The Bill also addresses performance management and staff appraisal processes, aimed at improving accountability and professionalism in the county public service.
