Eye Health Strategic Plan 2025-2030

The Vihiga County Eye Health Strategic Plan 2025-2030 aims to provide affordable, quality and sustainable Eye health services in Vihiga if given proper funding and support from development partners.

This is according to Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo who spoke today while presiding over the plan’s launch at Vihiga County Referral Hospital grounds.

Dr. Ottichilo took the opportunity to appreciate development partners for their continued support to Eye health services in Vihiga, noting that Christian Blind Mission( CBM), Peek Vision, Kenya Society for the Blind, German Cooperation and Sabatia Eye Hospital have worked with his administration to ensure County Government of Vihiga now has an operational fully-fledged Eye unit that offers services to residents at the Vihiga County Referral Hospital.

The partnership also facilitated successful implementation of the Vision Impact Project (VIP) in Vihiga that commenced in 2022, resulting in a strong referral pathway, equipping of facilities across the County, continued sensitization and awareness on Eye health and capacity building of staff.
