Buhani Irrigation Project in Mungoma ward, Vihiga Sub County is among projects being implemented by County Government of Vihiga to enhance food security.
Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo alongside H.E. Wilberforce Kitiezo – Deputy Governor Vihiga County today inspected the ongoing project that currently allows farmers in the area to embrace Climate Smart Agriculture in the face of adverse Climate Change effects.
The County Boss also took the opportunity to join farmers who were undertaking training on Climate Resilience Agriculture at Buhani Episcopal Church, urging them to fully embrace Climate Smart Agriculture for sustainability, commercialization and value addition.
Buhani project entails irrigating 100 farms, setting up greenhouses, distribution of farm inputs and enhancing extension services.
