GOVERNOR OTTICHILO ASSENTS TO THE VIHIGA COUNTY SUPPLEMENTARY APPROPRIATIONS BILL 2025

In accordance with Section 24 of the County Governments Act, Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo has today signed The Vihiga County Supplementary Appropriations Bill 2025 in a session attended by both the County Executive and Assembly led by Deputy Speaker Eric Odei.
Speaking after the exercise, Dr. Ottichilo said that Kshs. 30M has been budgetted to facilitate the first phase of relocating families that are in the jurisdiction of the upcoming Kidundu Stadium.
Additionally, the County Government of Vihiga has also allocated Kshs. 50.2M to cater for Pending Bills, with Kshs. 54.5M being set aside for Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) teachers’ and Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) instructors’ gratuity.
According to the Governor, the process was thorough and participatory, all the way from the ward level.
In his remarks, County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Finance and Economic Planning Meshack Mulongo urged all departments to ensure proper and prompt preparation of documents for effective execution of the budget.
