GOVERNOR’S SCHOLARSHIP AND BURSARIES
Students on the Governor’s Scholarship and bursaries will now be able to complete their secondary education smoothly following assent of the Vihiga County Education Bill, 2025 into an Act by Vihiga County Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo.
The bill succeeds the previous one enacted in 2014 and has been in operation till 2024.
Additionally, it also provides supplementary Education grants to eligible students enrolled in Secondary schools and Vocational Training Centers.
It further grants scholarships in accordance with the criteria established under the Act.
Since inception of the Governor’s scholarship, more than 90% of students have been admitted to Universities across the Country, with some being absorbed into TVETs and VTCs.
