Groundbreaking

Department of Environment Water Energy Natural Resources & Climate Change County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Onzere Mulongo on behalf of Governor Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo undertook the groundbreaking of the completion and commercialization of Buhani Irrigation Scheme in Mungoma ward, Vihiga Sub County.

The project entails irrigating 100 farms, setting up greenhouses, distribution of farm inputs and enhancing extension services.

This is good towards enhancing food security in the context of Climate Change.

Also present at the event were Chief Officer for Environment, Energy, Natural Resources and Climate Change Dr. Richard Boiyo, Chief Officer for Education Dominic Luvavo, Area MCA, Director Climate Change Winstone Atamba among other officers.
