KAPTIK/MWALA WATER PROJECT

Kaptik/Mwala water project in Shiru ward, Hamisi Sub County is 100% complete and currently serving over 100 house holds.
Chief Officer in charge of Environment, Energy, Natural Resources and Climate Change Dr. Richard Boiyo yesterday led officers from the Directorate of Climate Change in an inspection tour to ascertain the quality of works ahead of official commissioning.
The project’s scope of works include;
✅ Rehabilitation of a Spring at Kaptik Secondary School
✅ Rehabilitation of a Water Sump
✅ Installation of a new submersible pumping set
✅ Laying of Rising main pipe line from Kaptik Secondary to Kaptik Primary School
✅ Installation of solar panels and solar security lamps
✅ Installation of a steel tower with 10,000 litres plastic tank for use by Kaptik Secondary School
✅ Installation of a 75,000-litre pressed steel tank on a 9 metre tower at Kaptik Primry School
✅ Laying of a distribution network of 5 KM2 in Shiru ward
✅ Fencing the tank area of Kaptik Primary School and provision of a lockable gate.
The project falls under the 4th cycle resilience projects being implemented by the County Government of Vihiga through the Directorate of Climate Change.
