Kenya Paediatric Research Consortium (Keprecon) team led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Prof. Fred Were today paid a courtesy to Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo at his office.
As part of the discussion, the team gave a summary report for the Championing Evidence-Based Advocacy (CEBA) for PHC/RMCAH+N project that was implemented by KEPRECON, Health Professional Associations, Champions and Counties between November 2022 and October 2024.
The project’s achievements include;
Evidence of enhanced ownership and uptake of the services and active local advocacy infrastructure
Evidence of policy formulation agenda item for County Health Management Team (CHMT) to create a framework for long term inclusion in the Counties’ agenda to build a case for increased local funding
Evidence of increased capacity for local advocacy partners in supporting governments for policy implementation
Supportive County legislature: as witnessed by budget approvals, supportive interactions during County Assembly summons, participation in the Health department activities including stakeholder forums.
