KIDUNDU STADIUM IS COMING HOME

Today, Governor Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo together with Hon. Ernest Kivai Ogesi, MP vihiga, held a high-level meeting with Defence CS Hon. Soipan Tuya to fast-track the Presidential directive for the construction of a 10,000-capacity ultra-modern stadium in Kidundu..

The project, set to break ground in January 2026, will be executed by elite military engineering teams. It marks a bold step toward transforming Vihiga into a regional hub for sports and youth empowerment.

Beyond the pitch, this stadium will:

Stimulate local economic growth

Create hundreds of jobs

Elevate sports development and talent nurturing in Vihiga and Kenya

Attract national and international sporting events

With 3 acres already secured, the County Government of Vihiga is working with stakeholders to acquire the remaining 17 acres needed for the full-scale facility and its support infrastructure. All affected individuals will be fairly compensated to ensure a smooth rollout.
