MEETING

Dr. Ruth Agesa – CECM Gender,Youths,sports ,Culture and social services today hosted George Listwa, a representative from the State Department of Culture, The Arts and Heritage.
‎Their meeting was to check on the suitability of Vihiga hosting the International Intangible Cultural Heritage Music and Dance Festival set to take place in October this year.
‎According to Dr. Ruth, Vihiga County boasts of various cultural activities, artifacts and sites, not forgetting renowned musicians, thus giving it a platform to host the event.
‎This festival aims to raise awareness about the importance of safeguarding intangible cultural heritage, which includes traditions, oral expressions, performing arts, social practices, rituals, festive events, knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe, and traditional craftsmanship.
