MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
The County Government of Vihiga through the Department of Education, Science, Technical and Vocational Training has organized a three-day Mentorship Program for students under the Governor’s Scholarship.
The event themed “Academic Excellence amidst Emerging Socio-Economic Trends in Education,” kicked off today at Chango Secondary School in Vihiga Sub-county.
Speaking during the official opening, H.E. Dr. Wilber Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo, EGH encouraged the students to:-
Prioritize their faith and incorporate prayers into their daily routine.
Uphold respect and acknowledgment for themselves and others.
Strive towards a clear purpose and set attainable life goals.
Develop effective plans to achieve these goals and purposes.
Master the art of time management.
Understand the balance between working hard and working smart.
Harness technology to further their educational and personal objectives.
According to Chief Officer Domini Luvavo, the three day program is to prepare the 440 students to become more aggressive and groom them in achieving higher grades. He also noted that the last cohort that sat for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary School (KCSE) exams got a mean of 94.4% and hoping for an improvement in the coming results.
The students while appreciating the county government under the leadership of Dr. Ottichilo promised to study hard and give exemplary results.
