MUTAVE-JEPSES BRIDGE

More than 10,000 residents of Tambua ward in Hamisi Sub County are benefitting from the newly-constructed Mutave-Jepses Bridge, a critical infrastructural project aimed at minimizing the risks posed by severe flooding and landslides in the region.
During heavy rain seasons, the local river often swells, leading to hazardous crossings that have tragically resulted in loss of life for community members.
Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo today commissioned the bridge, specifically designed to reduce disaster incidents and is part of broader efforts to enhance disaster risk reduction in the county.
