Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo today hosted a team from the Global TeleHealth Network (GTN) led by President Dr. Jack Higgins.

The visit follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in August 2025 between GTN and County Government of Vihiga.

The Partnership aims to accelerate access to quality Healthcare for Vihiga residents by leveraging on GTN’s vast TeleHealth resources. GTN is availing a network of approximately 300 highly-qualified doctors from Canada and the United States via its TeleHealth platform. These specialists will work in collaboration with Healthcare providers to offer remote consultations, second opinions and medical expertise across a wide range of specialties.

The MoU will also bridge critical gaps in medical service delivery, reduce patient referral costs and ensure faster diagnosis and treatment — particularly in remote and underserved areas.

This initiative is a significant step towards achieving Universal Health Coverage and improving Health outcomes.
