PUBLIC FINANCE MANAGEMENT ACT

Pursuant to Section 125 of the Public Finance Management Act, Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo has today assented to the Vihiga County Appropriation Bill, 2025.

In a session attended by H.E. Wilberforce Kitiezo – Deputy Governor Vihiga County, Vihiga County Assembly Speaker Hon. Christopher Omulele, CBS and members drawn from both the Executive and Legislative arms, Dr. Ottichilo thanked all stakeholders involved in the budget-making process for the proper coordination that has led to a consistent approval of the budget within the stipulated timelines.

Additionally, the County Boss urged departments to ensure they complete all ongoing and stalled projects first before embarking on new ones.

Out of the Kshs. 6,921,626,241 (6.55% increament from last year) budget for the 2025/2026 Financial Year, Kshs. 2,202,185,341(31.9%) will cater for development while Kshs. 4,710,440,900 (68.9%) has been allocated to recurrent expenditure.

‎Kshs. 408M will go towards settling of Pending Bills.
