SIGNING OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU)

This morning, Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo observed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the County Government of Vihiga’s Department of Health Services and a consortium comprising Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone LTD and Velocity Project Management.

The objective of this memorandum of understanding is to establish a framework for the creation and development of a testing and calibration facility, skills laboratory, and simulation center dedicated to biomedical equipment and engineers.

The Consortium is prepared to apply its expertise in establishing a training center and an equipment manufacturing zone within a suitable area of Vihiga County. This initiative aims to empower the region and enhance capacity building in the field of Medical Technology.

Governor Ottichilo stated that his administration will expedite the implementation of the MOU for the establishment of a Center of Excellence, which will serve the entire western region and Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB) in testing, calibration, repair, and simulation of medical equipment to ensure accuracy and provide quality healthcare services.
