The Vihiga County Water and Sanitation Services Bill, 2024

While assenting to the bill today morning at the County Boardroom, Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo expressed his gratitude to the County Assembly for expediting the bill’s approval that will go along way in tackling sanitation matters.

According to the Governor, the bill also provides a chance for establishment of Rural Water Boards that will ensure proper management of water projects down at grassroots level thus enhancing revenue generation.

In his remarks, County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Environment, Water, Energy, Natural Resources and Climate Change Onzere Mulongo committed to ensure implementation of the bill, once it becomes law, for consistency in supply and equality in water distribution to Vihiga residents.
