TREE PLANTING EXERCISE

The Department of Environment Water Energy Natural Resources & Climate Change in conjunction with Catholic Justice and Peace Department Diocese (CJPD) of Kakamega – Luanda Parish today conducted clean up and tree planting exercises at Esibuye market and Elukongo Primary School respectively.
The two exercises were aimed at promoting Environmental sustainability in Waste Management and Climate Change to the public.
Additionally, they were also in honor of World Environment Week as observed annually by Catholics worldwide and Vihiga’s commitment to spearheading Environmental conservation.
Activities conducted include;
✅Actual cleaning
✅Collection and transfer of waste to the designated garbage point
✅Pitting and tree planting at the school where the fraternity was also engaged specifically to cultivate a culture of Environmental sustainability in pupils
Much gratitude goes to CJPD for their undying support in Environmental sustainability programs, Elukongo Primary School management and residents of Esibuye for their warm reception.
